This kit was designed for my Masters in Creative Arts Education with Education. It is designed for Music Services but can be adapted for any employer who has an autistic employee. 

The kit is designed to build an understanding of autism and how managers and employers can effectively support their autistic employees, in this case, teachers. It helps employers know what questions to ask when making reasonable adjustments. 

It is designed to reduce burnout among autistic employees, thereby reducing sick days, as well as workplace bullying and discrimination. The tools are designed to help autistic people effectively communicate their needs to their employers so they can thrive in the workplace. 

The kit is constantly reviewed but currently contains

- An ASD Self-Reflection Form, designed for autistic teachers to prepare for an annual review to ensure that their needs are being met. It allows them to reflect on what they need from their employers and helps communicate these needs. 

- Workplace Review Template, designed for employees and managers in Music Services to use with autistic teachers. The form helps line managers ask the right questions about reasonable adjustments, enabling effective changes that help the teacher thrive. This should be completed annually. 

- Neurodiversity Crib Sheet, designed for managers to give basic information on the conditions which are classified as neurodiversity, as well as places for information and support. 

- A short video about autism and what it is like being an autistic teacher. Designed for all employees to view to deepen their understanding of autism and their autistic colleagues. The link to the video is below.
